Without being able to see the specific item in question, it is difficult to definitively say whether it is hematite. Hematite is a metallic gray or black mineral that often has a reddish-brown streak. It is commonly used in jewelry and has a distinctive metallic luster. If the item in question matches these characteristics, it is likely hematite, but it would be best to have it examined by a professional to confirm. **

When you wash hematite with water, the surface of the mineral may become cleaner as any dirt or debris is removed. However, the water can also cause the iron oxide in hematite to oxidize further, potentially changing the color of the mineral. Additionally, the natural luster of hematite may be lost as the water washes away any surface coatings or patinas that contribute to its metallic sheen. **

Solid wood furniture is typically more durable and long-lasting compared to veneer furniture, as it is made entirely of solid wood. Solid wood furniture also tends to have a more natural and authentic look and feel, as it showcases the natural grain and texture of the wood. On the other hand, veneer furniture is made of a thin layer of real wood glued onto a base material, which can be more affordable and have a more consistent appearance, but may not be as durable or long-lasting as solid wood furniture. Ultimately, the choice between solid wood and veneer furniture depends on personal preference, budget, and desired level of durability. **

One way to distinguish between real wood veneer and plastic film with a wood decor is by examining the texture and grain pattern. Real wood veneer will have a natural texture and a unique grain pattern that is not repetitive, while plastic film will often have a more uniform and repetitive pattern. Additionally, real wood veneer will have variations in color and tone, while plastic film may have a more consistent and artificial appearance. Finally, examining the edges of the material can also help distinguish between the two, as real wood veneer will have a thin layer of actual wood on the edges, while plastic film will have a uniform edge with no wood grain. **
